Since the original SofPulse was introduced, the medical device has delivered over 600,000 treatments, primarily in skilled nursing facilities, without adverse events since the mid 1990s.
AHCPR (the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research) recognized in their 1994 Clinical Guidelines (know to many as the "purple book") that this modality was the "only adjunctive therapy with sufficient supporting evidence to warrant recommendation," and an updated review in 1998 moved the evidence rating from "B" to "A."
